Responsibilities

Assumes responsibility, authority and accountability for workflow in the OR during their
respective shift.
 Provides supervision and structure for medical imaging staff that work in the OR.
 Maintains open and positive communication with staff, physicians, and other departments.
 Is a primary medical imaging contact person for OR staff and surgeons.
 Collaborates with medical imaging managers to evaluate and provide feedback of staff
performance in the OR.
 Counsels and monitors performance of staff; conducts performance appraisals; promotes staff
development.
 Presents a positive image to community and professional contacts.
 Promotes staff compliance of objectives and the implementation of procedures and policies.
 Conducts interviews for prospective employees; works with managers in recruiting/hiring
new personnel.
 Promotes professionalism within the department, hospital, and community; acts as a role
model.
 Participates in meetings and on committees as requested.
 Monitors OR equipment and collaborates with biomed as needed.

Qualifications

Successful completion of an accredited two year Radiologic Technology program
 Registered Radiologic Technologist
 Maintains current Iowa Permit to Practice
 Maintains active registry status in ARRT
 Participates in professional society (i.e., ISRT or SCD)
 Maintains Basic Life Support qualification
 1 CEU per year in Radiation Safety/24 CEU’s every 2 years
 Two years experience
 No formal disciplinary actions in file
1. Mentor to new employees responsible for training of new staff and students.
2. Responsible for training staff on new techniques and/or equipment
3. Responsible for signing off on employee competencies.
4. Maintains a positive attitude at all times.
5. Displays Mercy Values, including honesty and trustworthiness
6. Demonstrates consistently a team-player attitude
7. Participates in department QA if necessary
 Actively supportive of management staff
 Helps develop and maintains competencies for all respective employees
 Must participate in one of the following per year:
1. Mercy sanctioned community event
2. Presentation to professional group
3. Advanced Cardiac Life Support qualification

Pay Range

$25.18 - $36.52 /hour
