Hairstylist

A hairstylist provides haircuts, color services, shampoo therapy, styling, and other women,

men, and children under leadership's direct supervision. Hairstylists deliver all services with an

emphasis on providing an excellent experience and building a strong base of return guests. Hairstylists

are expected to follow all salon policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities.

• 
  Demonstrate thorough knowledge in cut, styling, and chemical services.
• Implement and uphold state board regulations on sanitation.
• Understand and demonstrate the Fantastic Sams Guest Service System for every guest.
• Integrate product recommendations and retail sales into each service.
• Meet or exceed individual retail and service goals.
• Promote referrals and business building practices; encourage guests to return.
• Always demonstrate professionalism in behavior and interactions with others.
• Always keep workstation and salon tidy and in compliance with salon specs.
• Maintain standards for growing a profitable salon and reducing waste.
• Attend all required education events and workshops
• Participate in in-salon, local community, and team-related activities and events.
• Always promote teamwork and demonstrate respectful behaviors.

Qualifications.

• Holds a current cosmetology license.
• Ability to demonstrate proficiency in the latest color, cutting, and styling techniques.
• Ability to demonstrate proficiency in the use of equipment needed to perform technical services.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively.
• Demonstrates the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrates the ability to build and maintain strong guest relationships.
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods and move quickly to accomplish many tasks.
• Ability to lift objects of 30 lbs.

Reporting Structure.

Reports directly to the salon manager and salon owner.

Attends monthly salon meetings and development meetings with the salon owner, as scheduled.
