Job description

We have a 206 acres pecan orchard and 47 acres of irrigated pasture. We also manage about 250 Dorper ewes.

The pecan trees are managed by leaf analysis, and sheep using managed grazing.

This is a permanent full-time position. We need someone able and willing to make a long-term (10 years +++) commitment.

Experience in irrigation maintenance, operating equipment, and farming is a plus. We also want you to help with record-keeping for the farm's activities and bookkeeping skills to record the farm's income and expenses. Good record-keeping skills are a plus. We are an organically certified farm and must keep good records. Being able to use a computer to manage our Shopify sales platform. Creativity and willingness to add value to our painstakingly grown pecans if we desire to do so. We also do our on-farm processing and packaging of pecans on the farm.

The weather can get windy, very hot, or very cold on the farm. Farming is hard work and also involves weekend availability from time to time. We are looking for a passionate individual who believes in regenerative farming and is willing to commit. If you are unwilling to commit, you will most likely leave within a short period of time.
