Strategic Space Systems Division has an opening for a Staff Engineer Facilities to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Redondo Beach, California.

This role reports to the SSSD Director of Projects serving as a direct representative to the business unit leadership. The Facilities Integration Lead (Staff Engineer Facilities) will be the business unit advocate to harmonize planning between the business unit and Facilities.

FIL responsibilities will include:

  • Through understanding of the business unit operation
  • Awareness of business unit Growth Plans
  • Address Infrastructure Requirements
  • Provide Infrastructure Risk Assessment
  • Address Maintenance Issues
  • Measure and report on program performance
  • Deliver presentations to executive management and other program stakeholders.
  • Maintain and communicate integrated schedule of facilities activities affecting workspaces and programs.
  • Conduct thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification and mitigation,
  • Adhere to all internal processes, policies, and applicable industry standards.
  • Apply a rigorous knowledge management process to capture learning, drive continuous improvement, and enhance agile business strategy management.

Detailed and comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the Facilities organization, including technical value stream. The ability to drive collaboration across multiple organizations will be the key to success in this role. The Facilities Integration Lead is accountable for ensuring that the facilities organization meets the needs of the business unit. This includes providing oversight and monitoring of the following functions within Facilities:

  • Facilities Planning
  • Projects
  • Maintenance
  • Facilities Reliability and Infrastructure Optimization
  • Real Estate

Additional oversight and monitoring to harmonize with our other partner functions include:

  • Environmental, Safety, Health and Medical
  • Information Technology
  • Security

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 14 years’ related experience in program management with a bachelor’s in science; 12 years with Masters; 9 years with PhD.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex programs comprised of engineering, business, contracts, law, supply chain, production, and mission/quality assurance disciplines.
  • Proven ability to deliver effective communication verbally, written, and through well-crafted presentations across all levels of an organization.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain. at least ONE of the following U.S. Government security clearances: Department of Defense Top Secret level or SCI access with a Single Scope Background (SSBI)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in STEM discipline or MBA from an accredited university
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with SSBI within the last 5 years.


Salary Range: $146,000 USD - $219,000 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
