Overview

Mercury is searching for an established Sr. Capture Leader to represent the eastern US region of Mercury’s businesses/sites with a successful track record in running and winning strategic Captures. You will be responsible for leading a team of teams, shaping opportunities and ultimately winning business with a lifetime value in the $100Ms. You will work closely with the Director of Capture as well as the Corporate Growth Organization and other leadership to develop an overall Capture Strategy and lead the Capture Team in a successful capture.

Worksite location options:
  • Onsite: Hudson-NH, Huntsville-AL, Arlington-VA or West Caldwell-NJ
  • Hybrid: onsite 2 days in office and WFH the remainder of the week (based on needs of business)
  • WFH/Remote: 100% Remote is not an option for this role due to the needs of the business
Responsibilities:
  • Define the Capture Strategy for the opportunity. Working with leadership define the overall approach to winning the defined opportunity
  • Inform and receive approval from stakeholders. Keep leadership informed of progress and successfully get approval at various stage gates as the Capture matures
  • Fully own and lead the Capture Team. Manage a senior team that also will manage resources to successfully execute the Capture Strategy
  • Plan all customer interactions during active Captures. Align all engagements with the overall Capture Strategy
  • Collect competitive intelligence and define Price to Win. Work with Capture Team to insure we have necessary information to develop a correct Price to Win and develop a solution that maximizes our chances of winning
  • Work with the capture team to develop strong customer value propositions (CVPs) and Win Strategies to ensure we are meeting the customer most valued requirements
  • Be a trusted partner for the Division General Manager for all Captures occurring in that Division. While not personally leading all captures, you will have responsibility to brief and maintain oversight of all captures in that Division
Key Capabilities/Experiences/Leadership Behaviors:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Strong preference for Engineering or Technical Degree; must be able to understand and quickly learn Microelectronics products & technology to analyze customer requirements and confidently communicate Mercury solutions and customer value propositions
  • 10+ years in multiple relevant disciplines including Capture, Business Development, Engineering, Program Management and Sales in the aerospace and defense industry
  • Capture certification by Shipley, Miller-Heiman, or equivalent
  • Proven ability to lead teams through influence
  • Understanding of the DoD technologies and vendors that are often selected to deliver these capabilities.

  • Ability to travel to sites during peak proposal times (expected travel 30-50%)
  • Current Secret clearance or ability to receive
