The Senior Cloud Operations Engineer will provide technical leadership for clients overseeing architecture and design. They will work with our customers and partners in creating technical strategies to help them leverage Cloud platforms.

Here's what you'll do...

  • Manage client expectations and drive a stellar client experience
  • Work on customer engagements for implementations in AWS, Backup & Disaster Recovery solution design and implementation
  • Build and automate the provisioning of infrastructure resources to support custom stacks, primarily leveraging scripting for deployment automation
  • Participate as a hands-on technical lead for engineering engagements to build and optimize deployments
  • Support migration validation test design and execution
  • Solicit customers' systems requirements necessary to support engineering activities across all phases of the engagement life-cycle
  • Analyze customer workloads and application inventories to determine and present an appropriate cloud strategy. Identify integration and operations technical dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans
  • Translate customer's technical and business requirements into clearly defined engineering tasks that can be executed by resources across multiple disciplines
  • Design and setup monitoring for the cloud solution including application monitoring
  • Support Client Care, Services, and Development in cloud platforms

Here's what skills you'll need…

  • Minimum 10 years of overall working experience that include customers interactions for atleast a period of 5years
  • Self-management
  • Work load management for self and other members of the team
  • Technical and non-technical communication skills, particularly with clients
  • Mentoring and ability to assume a team lead role
  • Experience implementing/supporting Kubernetes based environments (Kops, EKS) utilizing toolsets that include security monitoring tools (StackRox), monitoring and logging (Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic Search, Kibana), deployment tools (Spinaker, Jenkins), Identity and Authentication Management (KeyCloak, AD, Okta).
  • Ability to create and utilize PowerShell scripts, CloudFormation, Terraform, and Chef to automate tasks in AWS
  • Experience with multiple Database technologies (Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres, CouchBase, MySQL, CrateDB) including setup, maintenance and performance monitoring/tuning
  • Microsoft Windows system experience including event analysis and scripting ability
  • Microsoft IIS experience including creating, maintain and monitoring web sites and web services
  • An understanding of SFTP setup and maintenance.
  • Ability to pick up and learn new AWS technologies and create internal training docs
  • Experience with Database technologies (SQL, Cluster technology and creation, Always-On, migration, log shipping)
  • Hands on experience with AWS capabilities and limitations
  • Thorough understanding of Cloud Computing: virtualization technologies, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service and Software as a Service Cloud delivery models and the current competitive landscape
  • Real world IT infrastructure management experience. (Servers, Virtualization, Storage, Networking, Applications)
  • Thorough understanding of infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, hypervisors, storage, monitoring, security etc) and have experience with orchestration to develop a cloud solution

Here's what will give you an edge…

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT
  • Experience with Cloud Assessment Technologies is also a plus
  • Experience with creating and deploying AWS and ARM templates
  • Basic understanding of business continuity, disaster recovery and migration technologies
  • Ability to present a strong credible technical image to our customers
  • Very strong troubleshooting skills
  • Enjoys collaboration in a team environment as well as working autonomously
  • The pay range for this position is between $65,000 and $92,000 plus annual bonus. Starting salary may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
