Legend Biotech is seeking (Sr.) Accounting Manager as part of the Finance team based in Somerset, NJ.

Role Overview

Key responsibilities will be managing the accounting for US entity involving Right of Use Assets, Fixed Assets, Foreign Exchange, and Collaboration Accounting. This role will work closely with the Legend Financial Reporting Team, Treasury, Accounting and the FP&A team. You will also provide accounting support for other Legend operating entities as requested.

Key Responsibilities

• Month end accounting and reporting responsibilities include but not limited to journal entries, variance analysis, and creation of operating entity reporting packages with timely submission into the financial reporting team in compliance with the month end reporting calendar.
• Responsible for the accounting for right of use assets, fixed assets, and collaboration accounting involving payable, advanced funding and milestone payments. Accountable to ensure accounts are properly reported and supported.
• Handle the calculation and recording of the foreign exchange gain or loss as required as part of the month end close for all operating entities.
• Prepare the month end reporting for the US operating entity which will be submitted to the Controller and Legend Reporting Team. Prepare commentary and explain fluctuations on a timely basis to comply with the month end close timeline for balance sheet and income statement.
• Prepare account reconciliations on a timely basis and ensure they meet SOX requirements.
• Responsible for ensuring integrity of the general ledger and collaborating with the reporting team in maintaining the chart of accounts.
• Assist Financial Reporting with ensuring Legend accounting policies are current and incorporate new industry technical accounting guidance and reflect changes in Legend's accounting process.
• Initiate continuous improvement to increase efficiency and respond to change in the business environment.
• Cooperate with external auditors, timely deliver the financial information to third-parties and regulators when necessary.
• Address ad hoc request as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree or above major in accounting, finance, or auditing required. CPA License required.
• 5+ years of experience in an operations role in the biopharmaceutical and/or medical devices industry preferred.
• Be skilled at Excel and SAP, over 5 working experience in accounting function.
• Fluent oral communication, reading and writing skill in English.
• Cooperation and collaboration spirit.
• Trouble shooting and problem solving skill.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.
• Strength in communicating and working independently and effectively with broad stakeholders.
• Process-oriented with strong analytical skills for risk identification and management.
