Richfield Living- Salem Campus
is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. We currently have full time openings in our Assisted Living Community as well as our Health Center Rehab. The SLP is responsible for organizing and providing resident centered speech-language services to high acuity residents in order to facilitate rehabilitation. This will include providing Home Health services for our residents on campus with our care partner. This position reports to the Director of Rehab.

The SLP develops and implements resident centered, individualized therapy program designed to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. Facilitate the learning of those skills and functions essential for communication and swallowing to diminish or remediate disorders or deficits. Directs activities to promote and maintain health, within the scope of practice and consistent with the Code of Ethics of the profession. Identify need for and make referral to other disciplines to address the comprehensive needs of the resident.

Qualifications:

  • Requires valid Virginia SLP license and certification with ability to practice per Virginia guidelines.
  • Must possess a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology that is consistent and acceptable to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Must possess or be eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow.
  • Experience and knowledge working with high acuity residents
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate; verbal and written.
  • Ability to observe and communicate changes of medical conditions to the nursing team
  • Passion to care for our residents
  • Experience working within a healthcare community desired
  • Experience with Elopement and Emergency Procedures desired
