We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Specifications Manager. This role will cover the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and reports to the National Sales Manager.

Job Summary:

The specification Manager (SM) for our Waterworks Markets will operate as a sales consultant to influence and aid decision-makers within the waterworks market served by HARCO Fittings. The successful candidate will develop and maintain long-term relationships with industry influencers including utilities, utility contractors, and engineering & design firms. Their objective is to promote all product lines Harco Fittings LLC manufactures and represents/distributes. The SM is to gain end-user acceptance as the product choice preference by driving awareness, education, specification, standardization, and approval for all Harco products offered.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Lead, support, and drive company specification initiatives.
  • Make HARCO the most visible manufacturer to all influencers and agencies in their assigned markets and territory.
  • Participation in local, regional and national associations, events, and other influencing organizations
  • Establish HARCO as the primary product specified for ongoing maintenance and new construction projects.
  • Educate end users, contractors, installers, and engineering firms or designers on HARCO’s products, their applications, and key benefits.
  • Accountability for the Project Tracking Report with constant involvement and monitoring of projects and large projects with assigned territory.
  • Provide a single point of contact support for high-value specifiers, consultants, and contractors within assigned territory.
  • Develop and implement sales programs and strategies designed to grow the market and or territory. Track and measure progress against specific sales growth objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain our company database (profiles, approval and specification process results, project history, current and ongoing plans, interests, and opportunities) updating immediately all influencers’ communications.
  • Identify, develop, and implement methods and tools that increase HARCO’s value towards all market and territory influencers.
  • Coordinate sales leads and training efforts with HARCO Territory Managers, Inside Sales Reps, Customer Service Reps, and Business Development Managers.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with product management, marketing, and product engineering to develop written, differentiated product specifications that will be used to influence end users, consultants, and sales team including distributors. Involved but not limited to these type materials are Technical Bulletins, Product Detail sheets, Application/Installation Testimonials, etc.
  • Serve as the “voice of the customer” for the internal HARCO teams, to ensure that product plans and sales programs include influencers as targets and/or customers.
  • As an essential member of the sales team, become the product technical expert. Conduct product demonstrations and training for staff, influencers, and users.

Qualifications:

  • A college degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • 7-10 years of successful sales or customer-facing experience
  • 3 - 5 years of sales management experience and experience in working with contractors and consultants, designers, and engineering firms.
  • Flexible to travel extensively as much as 70%.
  • Good technical knowledge and understanding of product applications to communicate technical concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional customer service attitude and poignant presentation skills. SM affects change for positive outcomes through calm, rational problem-solving. SM builds rapport and gains consensus amongst all influencers. SM oversees distributor partners and manages channel conflict with poise, integrity, and tact.
