Chemonics International is seeking a Specialist of Graphic Design. The Graphic Design Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment to produce original art for electronic and print projects and provide professional, creative, innovative, and strategic design guidance and brand compliance to Chemonics’ new business proposals, marketing materials, and client deliverables, including project reports, brochures, websites, and posters. The Graphic Design Specialist will apply strong design skills and a broad knowledge of current design techniques to all assignments and will employ analytical communication skills to assist internal clients in determining visual requirements for information they wish to convey. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Responds quickly to and prioritizes requests from global corporate clients, applying corporate and client brand requirements to create innovative, original designs and layouts with a strong sense of typography and appropriate use of color and fonts for accessibility and readability
  • Solves design and visual communication challenges in a variety of formats (charts, infographics, maps, logos, posters, brochures, websites, and newsletters)
  • Selects and edits appropriate photos that reflect Chemonics’ work
  • Reviews requests for proposals and uses working knowledge of design to assist proposal teams in developing more attractive, innovative concepts to support technical information in proposals
  • Creates easy-to-understand graphics that appeal to different types of audiences
  • Coordinates production of printed materials and purchase of other graphics related materials with outside printers and vendors as required by project needs
  • Helps train and mentor staff and shares knowledge with colleagues
  • Researches and recommends hardware and software to improve core graphic design deliverables and expand department services
  • Maintains and expands technical knowledge in graphic design and other technical interests by attending internal and external training (including those available digitally through Degreed, LinkedIn Learning, etc.), conferences, and other design-related events

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of professional design experience working in a design or advertising agency and/or corporate marketing and communications department
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience using Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Word and Powerpoint (knowledge of Excel, Visio, and Power BI is a plus)
  • Proficiency or a strong interest in video editing and motion graphics a plus
  • Proficiency or a strong interest in UX/UI design a plus
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize, solve problems creatively, and work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of design history and typography
  • Experience overseeing four-color printing through delivery
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PC and Mac hardware/software programs
  • A strong electronic portfolio with a variety of samples
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity

The Salary Range for this position is expected to be: $68,560 - $85,700.

An employee’s pay position will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.
