Job Description

The Castleford School District is looking for a full-time Special Education Paraprofessional. The successful candidate will provide assistance to the special education teachers, assisting in the implementation of students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and will work with students with a variety of mild to sever physical, emotional, and learning disabilities. The position may work in various settings, such as one-on-one, small groups, or regular classroom groupings while pushing in to assist students. The position is directly supervised by the assigned Special Education Teacher with the overall supervision by the Director of Special Services. Some responsibilities will include: collaborating with teachers and other paraprofessionals; maintaining a professional demeanor with students, parents, and staff; before school, recess and lunch supervision; handle all confidential information appropriately; perform other tasks including some after school meetings/activities as determined by the Principal and/or Superintendent; flexibility to perform various job functions upon request; and be a positive team member.

Job Requirements

  • An Associate's Degree or passing score on the ParaPro test is required with funding available for the ParaPro test. Bilingual communication skills in English/Spanish is preferred, but not required. The position is a full-time position with benefits: health, PERSI retirement, and life insurance. The Castleford School District is a four-day school with most Mondays as non-school days.
