Job Title: Software Engineer – Harvest Automation

Who We Are Looking For

The Harvesting Automation team within the Harvest Electronics team at AGCO Hesston Operations has an immediate opening for an Embedded Software Engineer. The successful candidate will develop software to enhance control systems and the user interface for current and future harvest automation systems.

What You Will Do

  • In areas of design responsibility: participate in software code review, troubleshoot and repair software problems
  • Integrate, develop and deploy software
  • Experience debugging/interpreting vehicle bus data using CANoe, CANalyzer, CAPL, PCAN, CANtrace, or other similar tool.
  • Interface to the electrical and mechanical design teams to define required interfaces.
  • Provide prompt support to field development teams in regards to data acquisition, instrumentation, testing procedures, and testing techniques
  • Occasionally support in-field activities such as advance data collection, system tuning and optimization, system troubleshooting, demonstrations, and training.
  • Travel both domestically and globally up to 10%

What You Will Bring

  • Experience in writing embedded software using C and C++, OpenCV, Python, and Java
  • In depth knowledge of CAN communications
  • Experience using a version control system, for example SVN.
  • Solid understanding of network communications, including CAN, Ethernet, WiFi, and BroadR-Reach
  • Experience in Image Processing


A Plus If You Have

  • UML and Automated code generation tools
  • ISO11783 CAN communication protocol.
  • Experience in development on off road, heavy equipment or agricultural equipment preferred.
  • Experience in development of real-time embedded control systems using Matlab/Simulink modeling tools.
  • A strong sense of customer focus, and pride in maintaining high-quality work standards
  • A strong desire and commitment to continuous learning and self-growth
