The Sales Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP) Demand Analyst is a key position within the Boart Longyear SIOP team providing key analysis, reporting, and gap identification in the demand forecasting area of the monthly SIOP process. The SIOP Demand Analyst is responsible for facilitating a rolled up global demand/forecasting (SIOP) view for the monthly Demand Review meetings. Using both quantitative and qualitative approaches, the SIOP Demand Analyst is responsible for the BLY demand views presented in each monthly SIOP cycle. This includes both high level planning through our SIOP processes, as well as detail planning in the form of global SKU level unit forecasts. This individual will partner with the Global SIOP Leader & other leaders across the organization to support and implement high-quality data driven decisions.

Essential Job Functions & Duties

• Demand Planning/Forecasting - Use and maintain the Demand Planning software (John Gault) as the primary forecasting system tool, reviewing historical sales trends, researching demand drivers, preparing rolled up forecast data, developing statistical forecast models, and evaluating forecast results.
• SIOP – Facilitate, with the Global SIOP Leader, alignment with the Sales & Inventory Planning teams on forecast/demand plan 3–12-month planning horizon for a rolled up global view & regional views
• Partners with the Global SIOP Leader with preparation of Demand, Pre-Meeting & Executive Review presentations
• Collaborates with the Global SIOP Leader with the SIOP action log to assure assigned projects/action items are completed within agreed time frames.
• Works with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company and industry demand data to drive directional demand plans.
• Coordinates with the Supply Chain group with regards to region-based demand forecasting
• Utilize forecast accuracy metric for volume and mix to improve future forecast and identifying root cause issues for misses.
• Focus on ABC/XYZ segmentation to ensure proper prioritization to the forecast.
• SIOP Metrics/Data Analysis and KPI review on a monthly cycle to drive improvement.

Skills/Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in a Demand Planning/forecasting role
• 1-3 years SIOP or S&OP experience in an analyst role
• Fluent in Spanish would be a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in related business area
• Knowledge of John Gault or other Demand Planning software preferred.
• Advanced level of experience using Excel, strong with experience using tools such as VLOOKUP, Index Match, Advanced conditional formatting & Pivot tables for data mining
• Strong problem assessment and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Interpersonal skills are essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process.
