We have an excellent opportunity for a Shipping Manager at our Troy, Ohio manufacturing facility.
In this position, the successful candidate will perform the following job responsibilities:
- Lead a team of supervisors, coordinators and loaders, who are responsible for the shipping of finished goods.
- Coordinates interdepartmental activity with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Warehousing, Traffic, Procurement, etc.
- Responsible for meeting direct budget targets, writing/updating work instructions, providing performance metrics, and making recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations
- As the Shipping Manager, develop and execute the strategy for shipping operations in support of the company goals.
- Leads a team that has the mission statement to support all company goals and objectives through the accurate shipment of finished goods.
- Leads the Shipping Team in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Train and guide employees in keeping with all Clopay Values.
- Find cost-effective solutions for shipping processes.
- Will collaborate with various programs on projects related to shipping.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience plus education.
- Minimum of 7 years leading a large shipping, distribution or logistics team.
- Strong managerial skills.
- Proven track record of experience in the area of Shipping, Loading, and Logistics.
- Experience with ERP.
- Exceptional analytical ability, highly proficient at excel
- A supply chain "super athlete" – strong foundation in supply chain / operations concepts, intellectually curious, equipped with a problem-solving mentality
- A self-starter comfortable in fast paced, highly complex environment
- Possesses exceptional attention to detail and the ability to zoom out and place challenges/opportunities into a greater business context
