The Naval Nuclear Laboratory comprises the U.S. Department of Energy locations and personnel responsible for developing advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology, providing technical support to ensure the safety and reliability of our nation’s naval nuclear reactors, and training the Sailors who operate those reactors in the U.S. Navy’s submarines and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory includes the Bettis and Knolls Atomic Power Laboratories, the Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and the Naval Reactors Facility which have proudly supported the nation since 1946. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory also has an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations around the globe. We are dedicated solely to the support of the United States Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. Job Description

The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Subdivision of the Bettis Laboratory Site (BLS) is seeking a knowledgeable individual who would like a career at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory as a Service Contract Work Administrator (SCWA). The main service contract of responsibility will be the Bettis Cafeteria Services.

Responsibilities in this position may include:

  • Acts as the primary interface between NNL and the Cafeteria Subcontractor
  • Provides field oversight and coordinates work between NNL stakeholders and the Cafeteria Subcontractor
  • Responsible to maintain records of contract requirements through daily/weekly logs such as grease trap and pest control records.
  • Interfaces with other BLS personnel to resolve technical issues or questions with cafeteria operations, performs surveillances of the cafeteria themselves or in coordination with NNL oversight groups and enters deficiencies found into the Site Tracking and Trending System (STaTS) or alternate database.
  • Also manages the cafeteria cleaning contract and scheduling.
  • Processes and approves invoices for payments.
  • Renews or extends contracts on a yearly basis.

The candidate will also be in charge of or share responsibilities for other service contracts with O&M such as Waste Management, Pest Control, Recycling Vendors, Landscaping, and others.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of ten years of relevant experience or; Associate degree in technical, engineering, or science-related discipline from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years of relevant experience or; Bachelor degree in technical, engineering, or science-related discipline from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience

Required to obtain and maintain an ANSI-Accredited Certified Food Protection Manager certificate.
