The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Program Administrator II. Under general supervision and within an HIV-status neutral framework, this position coordinates biomedical prevention education, screening, education, and navigation to care via telephone and in-person encounters.


Key Duties, Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administers the logistical support for a University-wide program, which is often of a large and/or complex nature
  • May participate in developing program plans, objectives and directives
  • May supervise support staff
  • Acts as a communication liaison with outside resources
  • Plans and carries out special projects related to the success of the program
  • Responsible for adherence to program budget
  • May provide education and training to UAB community
  • Navigates people living with HIV regardless of date of diagnosis, to HIV care at the 1917 Clinic and elsewhere in accordance with existing protocols, in collaboration with the Linkage and Retention Team
  • Facilitates HIV testing for individuals in and out of the 1917 Clinic facility and linking to appropriate care depending on test result and client's needs
  • Responds to the unique needs of a diverse population and ever-changing healthcare landscape
  • Demonstrates ability to successfully complete trainings on UAB's electronic medical record system (EMR), HIPAA, Trauma-Informed Approaches, Motivational interviewing, and other topics as appropriate and/or required

  • Administers the logistical support for the 1917 Clinic in the area of linkage and retention
  • Develops program plans, objectives and directives
  • Acts as a communication liaison with outside sources while planning and carrying out projects to the success of the program

Hourly Pay Range – $18.35 - $23.85


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • One (1) year of related experience required
  • Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
