The Financial Information Systems group maintains the University of Missouri’s PeopleSoft Financials System and is responsible for the month-end and year-end transactional processing, data reconciliation, reporting, and system maintenance and upgrades. The group provides functional expertise for the PeopleSoft modules, Web Applications, and Financial Reporting and is expected to develop and design system requirements based on business process owner needs. And in turn, implement solutions, teaming with technical staff as needed.

The Office of Finance is looking for a talented Finance Systems Specialist III to join the Finance team. This position is primarily responsible for performing duties that assist in the maintenance and enhancement to the University’s PeopleSoft Finance Enterprise Software System. They will manage, enhance, and upgrade the PeopleSoft Accounts Payable Module with some effort for the Travel and Expense and Asset Management modules and provide support to the campuses/end users on the day-to-day functionality of the applications. This position will: oversee and troubleshoot system processing; lead functionality testing during upgrades; work with technical staff to identify and resolve system issues; and reconcile submodules to the ledger.

Key Responsibilities

Manage changes to the ERP including upgrades, enhancements, and break-fixes. Identify how new features impact business processes, develop specifications new reports and enhancements, work with IT resources to implement changes, facilitate user acceptance testing, and approve production migrations.
Regularly collaborates with individuals from other campuses, peers and senior administration to solicit input and build consensus on complex information regarding new functionality and technology designs.

Exercises judgment and applies perspectives based on the analysis of multiple sources of information, determining gaps, providing recommendations, experience, etc. for the outcomes of the University.

Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities through advisement and support on projects, products services and technologies.

Responsible for the creation and implementation of new business process and technology solutions to highly complex and operational problems, taking a new perspective on existing solutions while leveraging the appropriate resources.

Solve routine to complex problems within and outside of assigned modules, taking a new perspective on existing solutions and using technical expertise/tools when necessary.

As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and purpose of the University of Missouri System.

$56,864-$78,525/year

Typically 8-5 pm CST, M-F, additional hours as needed. Hybrid work option.


Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary


Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in functional or technical support of enterprise software applications.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Experience performing business analysis in one or more of the following PeopleSoft modules CRM, HCM, & FIN and/or with Accounts Payable processing.
