Senior Data Engineer (No C2C).

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will provide technical leadership owning the design and implementation of end-to-end solutions that are highly available, maintainable, secure and cost-effective. This position requires comprehensive and hands-on experience in data platform and related technologies on cloud environments.

Responsibilities:
  • Build cloud-native, hybrid, and multi-cloud workloads that are highly scalable, resilient data pipelines.
  • Mentor other team members to level-up their skills and quality of the team.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge the data engineering domain to build and support non-interactive, real-time, and highly available data pipelines.
  • Automate cloud deployments, as well as build CI/CD pipeline to support Cloud-Based workloads.
  • Research, recommend and deliver technology capabilities and data models which produce high quality datasets.
  • Help continually improve our tooling and processes by seeking opportunities for automation and simplification.
  • Deliver analysis that distills clear, meaningful insights from large, complex datasets.
  • Diagnose and solve platform and data issues - perform root cause analysis and apply solutions to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Gain a deep understanding of our data, how it applies to the broader organization and use this to level-up our solutions.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience building highly scalable data pipelines (batch and streaming) utilizing Talend, Informatica, or AWS Glue.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a data analyst/engineer role.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cloud Data Warehousing / Data Lake technologies and architectures such as Snowflake, Redshift, Lake Formation.
  • Deep understanding of how to organize data and optimize data storage in relational databases and flat file formats (e.g. on S3/Parquet).
  • Experience translating business needs to highly scalable data models and datasets.
  • Proven data modelling skills - must have demonstrable experience in reverse engineering models and designing models for data warehousing and analytics use-cases.
  • Python, JavaScript and shell scripting experience for automation and data manipulation.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as AWS Glue, Informatica, Talend or similar.
  • Expert SQL skills.
  • Prior experience utilizing dashboarding tools such as Power BI, QuickSight, Tableau, or similar.
  • Background in software engineering - able to write elegant, scalable, and maintainable code.
  • College degree in computer science, management information systems, or comparable years of experience in computer software field preferred.

  • Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors and clients.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to meet and exceed daily and weekly individual performance goals.
  • Ability to work independently as well as assisting other team members when needed.
  • Requires regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
Computer Skills:
  • Must be proficient in Talend, Informatica, and/or AWS Glue.
  • Knowledge of Structured Query Language and relational databases such as, but not limited to, MySQL, SQL Server or Snowflake preferred.
  • Must have expertise with the variety of off-the-shelf software for office productivity such as, but not limited to, Microsoft Office applications, and Adobe programs.
  • Must be able to learn other software as needed.
This position has a salary range of $110,000-$140,000 per year. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
