Role Summary/Purpose:

The Recovery Process Optimization Analyst will work on major business initiatives that contribute to Synchrony’s Recovery objectives. This role enables you to work directly with the business in catering to the end-to-end analytical needs. The analyst will support process analysis, control, and optimization across all Recovery functions, and leverage state of the art tools (viz., SAS, SQL, Model builder suite of products) along with managing projects.

This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support Best-in-class analytic solutions/algorithms for all Recovery functions (Debt Sales, Agency, Attorney, Recovery Systems, Inhouse Recovery unit, DSC)

  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously. Manage projects independently.

  • Communicate reporting trends to Recovery process leads and senior leadership

  • Coach analysts in various business/technical aspects, establishing priorities and coordinating work.

  • Work closely with Recovery process owners to develop and implement optimization and control strategies

  • Support tracking and reporting of strategy champion/challenger tests including preliminary analysis of the performance of the different strategies

  • Facilitate "Lessons Learned" session at close of each project

  • Follow through on action items to ensure "Best Practices" are incorporated into future projects

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Degree in following Majors – Mathematics/Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science/Engineering or other quantitative majors with 0 to 3 years of experience in Consumer Credit, or in lieu of a degree 2 to 5 years of experience in Consumer Credit,

  • At least 2+ years hand on experience in Analytics

  • Working knowledge of SAS, SQL, Unix, Excel. Tableau.

  • Strong Team Player in cross-functional environment.

  • Strong written/oral communication skills.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Exposure to Big Data technologies

  • Knowledge of SAS , SQL. Business objects .

  • Working knowledge of credit bureaus.

  • Work experience in a US financial institution or bank.

  • Systems Implementation experience.

  • Knowledge of US, Canadian credit bureau data
