Position Summary
This position serves to inspect, monitor, control, and patrol company facilities, grounds, and/or people after
normal working hours, on weekends, and holidays. This position guards property against damage, fire,
theft, trespassing and illegal entry. Makes periodic tours about buildings and grounds, examining doors,
windows and gates to ensure that they are properly secured. Ensures identification of employees and
visitors. Investigates disturbances, and in the event of an emergency, maintains order and safety of
personnel. May serve as liaison with police on mutual problems. Relies on experience and judgment to
plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
Duties
Secures premises and personnel.*
2. Controls access to the building by visually verifying that only approved personnel are permitted access
beyond the building reception area. Ensures that visitors are logged-in ad are provided escorts.*
3. Guards property against damage, fire, theft, trespassing and illegal entry.*
4. Periodic tours about buildings and grounds, examining doors, windows and gates ensuring security.*
5. Completes appropriate reports.
6. Investigates disturbances, and in the event of an emergency, maintains order and safety of personnel.*
7. May serve as liaison with police on mutual problems.
8. Contributes to team effort.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Education Degree
Required Experience
1. Five years experience with responsibilities in security or law enforcement
2. High school diploma
3. Demonstrated ability to perform and complete work assignments with minimal supervision
4. Good verbal communication skills
5. Former or current city police officer ideal
6. Driver’s license
