The Position

The Security Platform Administrator II is responsible for deploying and maintaining IT systems owned by the Global Security Operations team including security operations applications and underlying infrastructure. These systems provide log collection, SIEM, SOAR, case management, vulnerability assessment, threat intelligence, and privileged identity management for IT Security analysts and stakeholders throughout the organization.


The Security Platform Administrator II will administer applications, operating systems, and virtual infrastructure through command line interfaces, web-based interfaces, and write automated playbooks where possible to manage configurations and infrastructure as code for deployed applications.


The Security Platform Administrator II will be responsible for configuration management, change management, lifecycle management, vulnerability management, and license management. The person in this position ensures that the infrastructure technology and applications used within the Global Security Operations team are managed and maintained in alignment with required regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines.


Relationships

Reports to the Senior Manager - Global Security Operations–Americas. Interacts internally with team members within the same role and those who focus on incident response, vulnerability assessment, threat intelligence, analytics, automation, and similar functions to ensure systems continue to meet requirements, objectives, and service levels. External relationships include suppliers and consultants.


Essential Functions

  • Solves complex technical problems

  • Administers applications providing capabilities such as log collection, SIEM, SOAR, case management, vulnerability assessment, threat intelligence, and privileged identity management

  • Administers Redhat Enterprise Linux Version 7, 8, and 9 including patching, troubleshooting, application support

  • Administers VMware virtual infrastructure including patching and troubleshooting

  • Monitors for hardware failures and coordinates remediation

  • Automates administrative tasks with Ansible, Python, and shell scripting

  • Leverages understanding of TCP/IP network fundamentals to solve problems

  • Administers storage including NAS and vSAN

  • Deploys and maintains bare metal servers

  • Updates and patches systems to mitigate vendor security bulletins

  • Performs changes to maintain systems and meet emergent requirements from stakeholders

  • Maintains documentation to manage and transfer knowledge

  • Maintains documentation, requirements, and tests supporting systems qualification

  • Ensures alignment with IT Quality processes and procedures

  • Ensures the successful completion of all Quality and GIA audits and is responsible ensuring appropriate close out activities to all audit points

  • Records and tracks work items in Azure DevOps


Physical Requirements

5% overnight travel required.


Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Information Technology, Information Security, or related field

  • The ability to effectively communicate in a verbal or written context required

  • 4+ years of hands-on systems administration and technology management experience is required

  • 4+ years’ experience working in an enterprise IT required

  • Experience with cloud computing technology required

  • Knowledge of networking technologies and protocols required

  • Splunk experience highly desirable

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience highly desirable

  • VMware experience highly desirable

  • Ansible experience highly desirable

  • Tenable Network Security experience desirable

  • CyberArk experience desirable

  • Microsoft Azure experience desirable

  • Splunk, Red Hat, VMware, certifications desirable

  • Knowledge of Windows and Active Directory desirable

  • Ability to proactively manage multiple deadlines and organize resources and priorities to meet them
