Title: Safety Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Safety Coordinator will be part of a team implementing and overseeing the Project HSSE Program including the development of site safety policies and procedures. Will assist in monitoring the activities of heavy industrial construction projects, ensuring the facility's compliance with pertinent governmental regulations, company policies and procedures. This position will report directly to the Safety Director and indirectly to the site Project Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assist in determining the cause of unsafe conditions and injury claims through procedure, equipment, facilities inspection and worker observation.

· Provide corrective action recommendations and assisting in implementing metrics for tracking and reporting on performance issues will also fall within your responsibilities.

· Review project work plans for accuracy in conformance with the standards and assist in safety program audits, coaching, and training.

· Carry out duties in varying work environments including wide ranging weather conditions and terrain which may require travel to other job sites/projects.

· Assist with additional projects as needed.

Essential Qualifications:

· HS diploma or GED

· Must have 3-5 years of valid Construction Safety experience

· Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and OSHA requirements

· Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel

· Strong organizational and time management skills

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies

· Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done

· Work well independently or as part of a team

· Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment

· Must be able to travel is needed to multiple work sites

Desired Qualifications:

· Associate degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related technical field

· OSHA certifications and/or training

· Bilingual skills in Spanish and English

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. May vary from site to site and in some cases be greater or lesser than indicated here.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
