This position is supervised by the Central Office of Child Welfare Program in Salem; however, the incumbent in this position will work in Child Welfare District 2 in Multnomah County (Portland area).

As a Resource Family Retention & Recruitment Champion, you will:
  • Serve as the lead role to improve retention and recruitment outcomes for resource families in their local communities.
  • Engage diverse community with motivation, energy, and passion for community engagement.
  • Identify creative ways to build infrastructures of support for resource families.
  • Lead local teams around a shared vision; a vision where someday we will have an abundance of safe, diverse, and affirming, resource families that reflect the characteristics of children in care and are equipped to meet each child’s unique needs.

What you need to qualify
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years of experience coordinating or administering a program, or;
  • Any combination of experience or education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.

  • Experience working independently to complete tasks and projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to mobilize, engage, and build collaborative relationships with community partners and people.
  • Knowledge and understanding of data analytics, evaluation and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying creative solutions to problems in conjunction with data informed decisions.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and improving outcomes for all families.

Working conditions
  • Employee’s work will be conducted in a hybrid format that includes community work, office work, and some work that can be conducted remotely.
  • Occasional travel between district offices will be necessary to meet district needs. This will include attending different events and meetings. Travel to Salem will be required once per month to attend a learning lab.
  • Employee will work a professional work week where the hours of work fluctuate on a daily and weekly basis to meet service needs. There may be occasional weekend and evening work.
