Allied Services Developmental Services Division has new opportunities - with new, increased pay rates - for Resident Assistants in Carbondale and Scranton.

What is a Resident Assistant? Resident Assistants help to safely and gently provide complete assisted care for individuals with disabilities. We are here to provide care, companionship, community, and support.

That means being an important part of the day-to-life of our residents. With the guidance of our team leaders, you'll help with everyday care including mealtimes, grooming, toileting, transporting, and even social activities.

What qualifications do I need? A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Two (2) years of experience working with developmentally disabled individuals is preferred. Call Becky at 570.348.2222 to discuss your experience.

SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check.
  • Must pass post-job offer pre-placement physical exam; and initial and subsequent annual TB screenings.
  • CPR certification must be obtained and maintained.
  • Must adhere to established company/program policies and procedures and regulations relating to safety and infection control.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective communication with individuals on caseload, families, outside agency representatives and program staff.
  • As determined by facility and work schedule, valid USA driver's license may be required for frequent and unscheduled travel to fulfill position responsibilities, i.e., individual programming, transport, and appointments. Knowledge of counseling skills and behavioral intervention techniques required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
