Robinson Terrace Rehabilitation and Nurisng is seeking Resident Assistants (RA).

Full-time or Part-Time || Day or Evening Shift

Becoming a Resident Assistant is a great way to start in the medical field! They are first in line to join our PAID CNA CLASS!

RA Duties Include:

• Assist with transport of residents
• Pass out clothing protectors prior to meal.
• Distribute meal trays and assist with meal set-up as needed.
• Make beds and straighten room and refill water pitchers.
• Round on the units for cleanliness.
• Answer call bells.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

RA Qualifications:

• The ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Solid moral character, patience and the appropriate attitude toward the geriatric population.
• Ability and willingness to follow the direction and learn new concepts and procedures.
• Must be able to be on feet almost 100% of the work day.
• Must have full range of motion to allow for kneeling, reaching; pulling, etc. during performance of job duties.
• Physically able to lift or move up to 35# without assistance.

Essential Functions:

• Answer call bells- this does not include providing any care, feeding or assisting with transfers
• Assist with meal delivery, after checked by nurse for proper diet, and assist with returning trays to kitchen
• Transport residents in wheelchairs to and from the dining room
• Transport residents to activities, hairdresser, or therapy
• Respond to call bells – provide assistance if possible, as per protocols and guidelines.
• Communicate all problems, concerns or issues to nurse on duty
• Work cooperatively with staff to ensure all residents receive proper care
• Ensure residents areas are clean and tidy; this includes making bed, tidying rooms, wiping down tables and overbed trays
• Assist residents with correspondence which includes making and receiving phone calls, placing video calls or sending emails
• Assist in gathering residents for activities
• Maintain organized logs of activities and services provided
• Provide compassionate yet professional companionship and conversation
• Monitor and report any concerning changes in residents’ behavior or condition
• Assist with stocking linens, soaps, lotions and other supplies required on the unit
• Assist with Organization of supply closets and utility rooms
• Assist with transportation of clean/dirty equipment to designated areas.
• Report all concerns, issues to Unit Manger or supervisor
• Other tasks as designated by nursing

Qualifications:

1. Must have a high school diploma or GED
2. Experience working with elderly or disabled people preferred (not required)
3. Friendly, compassionate, professional demeanor; great communication and interpersonal skills
4. Basic reading, writing, math, and computer skills
5. Physically capable of doing work that requires standing, lifting, bending, and pushing
