The Quality Supervisor will be responsible for the Analytical Lab at the Kerry Manitowoc Facility. Will provide as well quality leadership and guidance to Quality Technicians ensuring that customer, corporate, and regulatory requirements are met.
What would you do?
- Maintain Analytical Department. This involves organization, training, motivation, and methodology development.
- Monitor programs and procedures to comply with all aspects of customer, corporate, and regulatory requirements for quality and food safety.
- Develop and maintain SOPs for analytical methods.
- Identify and work with plant leadership to implement quality improvement plans to drive continuous improvement in the quality of products produced in the facility.
- Supervise and support the Lab Technicians. Provide them with divisional objectives and oversee establishment of individual development plans to improve skill sets and support ongoing career development.
- Provide technical support within plant for commercialized products.
- Release products in SAP once all the criteria for releasing have been met.
- Provide quality support during product commercialization process. Ensure that process and product specifications are in place to allow for production of material within specified parameters.
- Perform sensory, physical, chemical, and / or instrumental evaluation of raw material, in process, or finished products following SOP and specifications.
- Expedite evaluation process and final disposition and provide information to production.
- Work with site leadership team to troubleshoot quality problems in production.
- Assist with corrective actions and investigation on customer complaints/issues.
- Maintain laboratory data, files, supplies, and calibrate equipment on a regular schedule as well as maintaining databases.
- Serve as coordinator for 3rd party Co-manufacturer testing.
What will you need to be successful?
- B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, Micro-Biology, Organic Chemistry, Food Science, or related Degree.
- At least 2 years of experience in a Lab environment within the Food industry.
- Knowledge and experience of analytical testing.
- Knowledge and experience in a lab setting running chemistry tests.
- GC, MS, HPLC knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to manipulate a computer keyboard, calculator, and telephone handset. Must be able to read computer printouts. Must be able to work in production and lab environment with frequent bending, standing, stooping, walking, reaching, climbing, and lifting required.
Working Environment:
Working environment will include office, laboratory, production, and warehouse settings with multiple tasks and changing priorities. Production and lab environments require use of PPE. Some travel will be encouraged for meetings, training, and development.
