Job description

What will you do?

  • Work hand in hand with the engineering and production team to minimize scrap
  • Help engineering improve processes to deliver quality
  • Analyze production data to help improve processes. (High-QA)
  • Attend MRB meetings to help find solutions for product nonconformities
  • Manage Customer Returns and Supplier/Vendor Issues (CAR’s/RMA’s)
  • Follow established procedures for defective products & give information to manager when product is put on "hold."
  • Understand the proper use of gauges & equipment; inspect parts to determine compliance against dimensions listed on technical drawing; utilize inspection equipment (micrometer, caliper, optical inspection equipment, Zeiss CMM, etc.)
  • Interpret technical drawings, use formulas, standard charts, tables, technical references, & confer with manager to determine quality & reliability standards.
  • Design and/or modify programs from delivered state as needed. (Keyence, Oasis, & CMM)
  • Diagnose & troubleshoot problems with programs & repair them.
  • Repair issues that arise on inspection equipment. (Keyence, Oasis, CMM, etc.)
  • Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Advise on inspection changes & implementation; provide training, tools & techniques to enable others to achieve quality.
  • Utilize & understand PPAP process by supplying data for first article inspection, understanding the importance of the PPAP process, & why it must be followed.
  • Assist with all SR Quality Technician job duties when needed
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field preferred with 2-4 years of experience in a quality position within a manufacturing environment OR an equivalent combination of education & experience
  • CMM experience desired
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001; AS 9100 experience is a plus
  • Experience in developing Production Part Approval Process (PPAPs) & First Article Inspections (FAIs) preferred
  • Experience with quality systems, quality improvement techniques, technical audit, & corrective/preventive actions desired
  • Ability to create new programs for CAD on CMM
  • Ability to work with statistical tools
  • Ability to use inspection & defect data in root cause analysis & develop test & inspection procedures
  • A genuine spirit for teamwork & collaboration that builds trust
