Purchasing & Inventory Manager

Ligonier is seeking a Purchasing & Inventory Manager to oversee all aspects of product purchasing, inventory, and EDI sales to help distribute our resources to a global audience. Your work is critical to accomplishing ambitious goals and serving other departments. You are skilled in gathering data and leveraging technology to make informed decisions. Responsibilities include oversight of the day-to-day functions of the team, process development and improvement, and understanding of all related software and infrastructure required for daily operation. Additionally, the Purchasing & Inventory manager is responsible for researching, developing, and implementing new and innovative improvements for the team.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Manages the day-to-day work of the purchasing, inventory, and EDI team
  • Establishes regular, measurable goals to assess team efficiency and output
  • Comprehensively understands the roles of purchasing, inventory, and EDI and serves as the primary backup for all three roles
  • Able to be assigned high-level projects with critical outcomes – can quickly adapt and shows the ability to make sound, data-driven decisions
  • Manages the daily relationship with Ligonier's third-party logistics solution
  • Develops an in-depth understanding of all systems and software related to purchasing, inventory, and EDI. Serves as the primary team member for troubleshooting, correction, and improvement for software and infrastructure issues
  • Manages processes for the bi-annual inventory audit – including management of internal teams and external vendors
  • Provides leadership and oversight for Ligonier and third-party conference bookstore acquisition. Understands the key stakeholders and develops sustainable systems that are flexible and promote growth
  • Understands the elements of accounting needed for the daily operation of the team. Serves as the liaison to examine current practice and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborates with each Ligonier department to understand and forecast their product needs. Develops a system to track and streamline requests
  • Responsible for data as needed for the daily function of the team. This includes, but is not limited to: data for purchasing, inventory, EDI, third-party logistics, shipping costs, and system verification.
  • Serves as the department lead to develop and implement any needed data dashboards – working with Technology Services to accomplish
  • Works closely with other departments to understand and improve cross-departmental functions
  • Primary liaison to internal clients needing to access, create, or edit product data
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum three years of experience in a similar role and experience in management
  • Detail-oriented, organized, multi-tasker
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to effectively delegate and manage people in working towards a united goal
  • Confident decision-maker able to remain composed and be flexible as issues occur
  • Able to be assertive and take the initiative in managing relationships and projects with minimal oversight
  • Ability to work under stress and deadlines
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to drive a rental or personal car at event locations
  • Excellent skill in data analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – highly proficient in Excel (or similar)
  • Ability to work with and understand multiple software of varying complexity (Teamwork, Sisense, Airtable, Jira, Studio Enterprise, Great Plains, Concur, Shopify, TrueCommerce, etc.)
  • Able to interact personably with valued ministry constituents and event participants
  • Meet the attendance requirements of the position
  • Willingness to travel for Ligonier and third-party events, vendor visits, and similar – up to 15% of days worked. Flexibility to work or travel on weekends and work long hours.
  • Agreement with the Ligonier Ministry's Core Statement of Faith
