SUMMARY

Supports the organization in managing direct and indirect material suppliers to ensure the needs of the organization are being met by placing orders and following up with interested parties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Elevate safety, compliance, quality, maintenance, efficiency concerns to management
  • Understand and apply policies, procedures, instructions from the Management System
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with the principals of 5S
  • Solicit quotes and pricing from suppliers
  • Create and issue purchase orders flowing down requirements to suppliers
  • Work with AP to resolve invoice issues
  • File and manage documentation from suppliers
  • Follow up with suppliers and coworkers to ensure timelines are met
  • Work closely with production and Buyers
  • Cross train and support other departments as needed
  • or as defined by manager

Job Requirements:

Critical Competencies

  • English literary, both reading and writing
  • Lift up to 30 pounds
  • Proficient with Microsoft products, including Excel and Outlook, and ERP systems
  • Ability to follow and execute both verbal and written instructions
  • Pass on the job training

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Education or Equivalent

Physical Demand and Work Environment:

Potential physical demands include but are not limited to: frequent sitting and occasional bending and stooping. Potential sensory demands include but are not limited to: hearing and seeing. Lifting and/or maneuvering of up to 30 pounds without assistance, or heavier loads with the assistance of a lifting device. Must be able to work in a typical manufacturing facility which could entail walking, climbing and moving around working equipment.

Work Environment:

Majority of time is spent in a general office environment, but regular time will also be spent in a manufacturing production environment where personal protective safety equipment must be worn and proper safety precautions must be observed.
