Job brief:

We are looking for a compassionate, experienced psychiatrist to join our Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP). You will be responsible for assessing our youth (ages 12-20), diagnosing or ruling out mental disorders, prescribing treatments, and conducting follow-up appointments to monitor the youth’s progress. This position is a part-time (less than 20 hours per month, contract), position and can be done via Telehealth.

Position Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Work experience as a psychiatrist
• Performs initial psychiatric evaluations, as needed
• Diagnoses conditions and causes
• Write prescription for psychotropic medications
• Monitors youth/NMD medications, their use, and document treatment results
• Interviews youth monthly to determine best treatments
• Completes monthly assessment progress notes.
• Thoroughly document each youth’s diagnosis, symptoms, medication, treatment effectiveness, etc.
• Produces accurate and timely documentation of needs and services in medical records
• Proven competency in performing psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing conditions (and their causes).
• Demonstrate experience working collaboratively with a team to develop, evaluate, implement and improve care using patient centered approach

Requirements and skills

• Doctor of Medicine
• Board of Psychiatry certification and state license
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions to our youth
• Strong observation skills to accurately evaluate youths’ demeanor and identify symptoms

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $166.80 - $234.41 per hour
