Position Overview

  • Plans, manages, coordinates and closes out assigned projects typically consisting of the schedule, technical scope and financial performance of multiple projects in order to deliver a quality product, on-time, and to customer requirements. Typically, projects will have multiple, highly complex work scopes, and significant customer collaboration. This is an advanced role within the projects organization which focuses on Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation activities. This position reports to the Director of Projects for Subsea.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Ensure that the project is planned, organized and executed in accordance with the Business Management System
  • Ensures project execution within time, budget, and QHSES requirements by allocating resources, managing risks, opportunities, and changes
  • Builds and maintains relationship with customer and other stakeholders associated with the Project (partners, subcontractors, vendors …). Serves as the single point of contact for the customer
  • Creates a quality and HSE oriented work climate that encourages client satisfaction and HSE consciousness among the project team
  • Contribute to the quotation process and provides project management related information such as schedules and budgets
  • Ensures timely internal and external reporting
  • Manages, informs, and leads project team by setting and monitoring performance targets
  • Contributes to people development by interfacing with project department and HR
  • Guarantees achievement or improvement of Profit &Loss forecasts
  • Ensures coordination of interfaces
  • Ensures project execution and financial close out with appropriate feedback
  • Main tasks may include:
  • Develop and provide creative, efficient cost-effective solution for customers.
  • Manage project proposal or plans. Determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contracts.
  • Understanding of scope of works, T & C’s and pricing; basis for revenues and the cost associated with delivery of products/services.
  • Provide customers with recommended course of action regarding implementation of project procedures.
  • Lead project team, organize and conduct project team meetings. Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Provide job forecast for total cost and total revenue
  • Ensure accurate client billings on assigned projects.
  • Direct activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Manages project budgets. Approves project related expenditures as authorized and manages costs to meet budget commitments.
  • Ensures profit margins and deliverables are met.
  • Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required.
  • Manages and negotiates Variation Orders.
  • Maintain project reports for management, client, or others.
  • Manage project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
  • Responsible for identifying and submitting deliverables for completion of project.
  • Manage 3rd party vendors and subcontractors.
  • Manage and ensure delivery and quality of internal and external suppliers.
  • Projects are of large scope ranging from $100+ million
  • Typically no direct reports, but manages a matrixed team for each assigned projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Procurement, Business Administration or related field required.
  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience in Engineering, Scheduling, Procurement, or similar field.
  • PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Requires product knowledge of sub-systems and package groups.
  • Understands divisions’ business and competing products and technologies and profit impact of decisions.
  • Demonstrated effectives in project negotiations, multi-site interfaces of commercial management of contracts, supplier quality systems and development and implementation of project management strategies.
  • Demonstrates effective leadership ability within a matrixed team environment and contributes significantly to team performance.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and coaching, and respond appropriately.

Work Environment

  • Spends 75% of time in a temperature-controlled environment (office, airport, airplane). Spends 25% of the time in a field environment or in a subcontractors shop, may be exposed to possible hazards including high noise, heavy machinery, and inclement weather. Travels 5-25% of time and may include international travel.

Physical Demands

  • Office environment requires sitting, operating a computer, walking and some lifting. Hands-on labor in shop and/or field environment, which requires lifting, walking, stooping, bending, and some climbing.
