GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for client and volunteer recruitment, orientation, training, and placements assigned counties.
  • Conducts initial visits with clients, completes annual redetermination of services and serves clients in absence of volunteers.
  • Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for follow through on client referrals, completing assessments and monitoring volunteer/client placements.
  • Attends initial meetings with volunteer and clients and provides orientation to clients regarding the program, generally in the client’s home.
  • Coordinates and facilitates pre-service orientation and in-service instruction of volunteers.
  • Ensures that all volunteers and clients follow established program policies and procedures.
  • Informs Program Manager of any challenges, problems, or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Review and approve volunteer timesheets, ensuring that they are ready for monthly billing process.
  • Maintains program records to ensure compliance with agency, funding source and accreditation standards; ensures program data integrity is maintained and monitored.
  • Maintains ongoing contact with clients, volunteers and program advisory council.
  • Represents the agency and provides information about and promotes program through active participation with community agencies/organizations; maintains cooperative working relationships with a variety of community organizations and agencies.
  • Assists in the formal and regular recognition of volunteers, organizations and individuals who have contributed support to the Program.
  • Accurately maintains appropriate computer database, client and volunteer file records.
  • Maintains awareness of current information on programs and services available to older adults and persons with disabilities.
  • Attend staff meetings, conferences and training programs as recommended by supervisor.
  • Maintain minimum client and volunteer base to ensure monthly billing goals are achieved.
  • Maintain program documents including volunteer and client files, consistent with program standards.
  • Adhere to the required compliance standards of the funding source.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and education as required.
  • Position is considered an at-will and requires a six-month probationary period.
  • Probationary and annual evaluations of performance are conducted.

Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position with preference in areas of human service related or business field or three (3) years of relevant experience. All degrees must come from a regionally accredited educational institution which has U.S. Department of Education approval.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in human services, volunteer management, banking or similar environment; experience with older adults or disability services is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and constructively with persons from all racial, diverse cultures, family systems, and social backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Passage of complete background clearance, and any other required testing or clearances.
