The Hog/Grain Procurement Analyst is responsible for data management/research/analysis and providing recommendations/feedback on opportunities to maximize value for SFD in each of these areas. Individual will be highly involved with reporting to team members to improve standardization, visibility, and overall performance. Provides high-quality project assistance to the Hog and Grain Procurement teams. The role will also be involved in ad hoc analysis of large datasets to quickly provide insight into the business.

$54,000 - $90,500
Core Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates a variety of project management duties in support of the Hog and Grain Procurement teams to ensure tasks and projects meet deadlines, are delivered on-time and within scope.
  • Develops plan to monitor and track progress to projects and tasks for the department.
  • Has a high impact on the implementation of strategic initiatives, that carry out overarching organizational objectives.
  • Manage strategic work product preparation, including presentations, using PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and other programs, as necessary.
  • Data Collection: Collect wide variety of information including volume, price, supplier etc. on weekly, monthly and annual basis.
  • General Market Analysis & Reporting: Review and analyze data and provide feedback to maximize value for SFD.
  • Manage the retention of all contracts. Work closely with the legal department on this process.
  • Role will also include entry and review of capital projects in the ePMO system prior to approval.
  • Analyze financial information to forecast business, industry, and economic conditions and communicate results to appropriate parties.
  • Function as an analytics and reporting expert for assigned functions by executing standard reports and, running/maintaining ad hoc queries and explain results of analysis to all levels of management.

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 2+ years’ relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Experience working in a commodity related role and understanding of the agri-business environment a plus.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with superb attention to detail.
  • Strong and proactive communication skills, confidence, and professional presence.
  • Highest level of integrity - discretion and maintenance of confidentiality required.
  • Proven experience in organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization abilities.
  • Professional demeanor, proven good judgment, exemplary customer service skills.
  • Ability to be extremely adaptable and flexible. Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Motivated, even-tempered team player possessing strong, creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
