Pratt & Whitney's North Berwick Engineering Center Aftermarket team is currently seeking a talented and dedicated Principal Project Engineer who has the desire to lead teams and the capability and desire to perform design and analytical activities on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply project engineering skills to support repair activities related to commercial gas turbine hardware. Primary hardware responsibilities include components found in the compressor modules of the PW800/PW1100/PW1200/PW1400/PW1500/PW1700/PW1900 engine models although work on any Pratt & Whitney product line.
  • Work with program engineering, repair station manufacturing, and Pratt & Whitney global industrialization to support and lead multi-discipline teams that are planning, authoring, and providing the engineering substantiation for component repairs and assembly procedures.
  • Act as the aftermarket focal point for the assigned engine modules.
  • Project management activities; schedules, budgets, tracking for the owned components, as well as a very active role in the design activity and procedure authoring, and will be expected to perform design engineering tasks in addition to the project management role. The split between these roles may fluctuate with business need.
  • Job activities include: Detailed task planning and tracking, Daily communication with manufacturing operations, Reporting task status to senior management, Leading integrated product development teams, Completing engineering calculations and analysis, Authoring of part repairs and other technical data, and Participating in investigations and corrective actions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or in a related field and 8+ years of prior relevant experience in engineering project management, mechanical design, analysis, or manufacturing engineering OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and 5+ years in engineering project management, mechanical design, analysis, or manufacturing engineering.
  • 5+ experience years in compressor or turbine parts.
  • Travel up to 10%.
  • US Citizenship due to government programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, aerospace design methods and procedures, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Proficiency with MS office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required, familiarity with NX CAD a plus, experience with Siemens Teamcenter software.
  • Self-motivated and willing to take on challenging initiatives.
  • A record of achieving objectives within schedule and budget constraints, and driving continuous improvement is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Team player who also works well independently, and will be highly adaptable to changing business needs.
