Adapt is currently looking for a Prevention Outreach Coordinator to work on Tobacco Use Prevention in Douglas County!

As a member of the Prevention and Education Team at Adapt, the Prevention Outreach Coordinator for Tobacco Use Prevention will plan and deliver community outreach and prevention strategies designed to affect the attitudes, values, and behaviors of our community to promote health and reduce risk. The primary focus of this position is to educate the community and promote prevention of tobacco use. However, since other problem behaviors share many common risk factors, team members can expect to collaborate on a variety of other topics such as trauma, resiliency, violence, alcohol and substance abuse, sexual assault, problem gambling, and suicide.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Foster and facilitate collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation and evaluation
  • Lead a project oversight committee to build annual work plan and evaluate progress toward achieving project objectives, outcomes, and goals
  • Plan and facilitate community outreach projects aimed at promoting prevention efforts
  • Organize, support, and execute department and agency events, projects, and activities
  • Collaborate with the grants and other community partners to prevent tobacco use
  • Assist in the collection of data pertaining to prevention services
  • Assist with program planning, implementation, reporting, and evaluation
  • Ensure accurate, concise, and timely data collection and reporting
  • Provide community education, outreach, and training
  • Maintain consistent, professional correspondence with stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in public health or prevention
  • Experience working in Public Health, Community Outreach, or Tobacco Use Prevention is preferred
  • Experience in project management, communication, and advocacy is preferred.
