About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a President for our Glatfelter Claims Management (GCM) division. This strategic leader will ensure the appropriateness of claims payments, support adequate reserving, legal and allocated expenses, and reduction of claim costs for programs with delegated claims authority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver superior claims services and capabilities to maintain GCM as the service provider of choice in the marketplace. Develop, position, market, and deliver superior claims services and capabilities in a manner that effectively leverages GCM’s strengths as a competitive differential in the market. Ensure a reputation of Claims excellence in the marketplace
  • Drive strategic support and value by managing the total cost of claims through improved claims handling processes, data usage, innovation, and technology solutions to achieve reduced volatility and greater operational and expense efficiency. Accountable for all claims KPIs, metrics, and review processes
  • Establish strong and collaborative relationships with the Glatfelter Underwriting Services and Glatfelter Program Managers leadership teams. Create mutual understanding of overall parameters and goals to drive effective execution of business model
  • Ensure meaningful reporting on claims intelligence and analytics and sharing relevant insights with Glatfelter Underwriting Services leadership teams
  • Lead ongoing Claims strategic initiatives through programs that foster an environment of continuous improvement
  • Partner with Underwriting, Product Development, Actuarial, and Sales on relevant projects, quarterly and annual profitability, and reserving reviews
  • Apprise the leadership teams of changes and trends in the legal, regulatory, and claims environment
  • Represent GCM as the Claims lead with brokers and clients during the claim issue resolution process
  • Maintain an effective litigation strategy
  • Represent the claims capability for GCM to carriers, regulators, rating agencies, and current and prospective business partners


What We’re Looking For

This strategic leader will possess the following qualities:

  • Extensive knowledge of insurance coverages with independent ability to interpret complex insurance policies and make appropriate decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement strategy, manage vision and purpose, and develop organizational capability resulting in achievement of results
  • Proven strategic leadership skills in developing vision and purpose, driving for results and building and leading high performing teams
  • Skilled leader of change; versatile, client focused, results oriented
  • Licensed as an Independent adjuster for the states serviced by GCM

Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of claims handling experience in all commercial property & casualty lines of business
  • Minimum of 5 years of claims handling experience in Accident & Health and Workers’ Compensation preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of claims leadership experience including oversight of multiple products and geographies

Education

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree or equivalent
  • AIC, CPCU, Claims Law, JD, preferred
