ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:

The efficiency and performance of the Porter will determine the pace and flow of all prep operations and dining room momentum as well. Their organization, work-ethic, and efficiency are tantamount in constructing and maintaining a smooth and elegant service for both the front and the back of house.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintaining and executing a well-organized system of washing plateware, glassware, silverware, and appliances to help other employees move smoothly and swiftly in their respective tasks
• Keeping excellent dishwashing standards to avoid any backup, clogging, or overflowing of any dish material
• Consistently keeping the dish pit organized and clean to help in both the input and output of dirty and clean materials
• Practices an organized checklist to breakdown dish pit at the end of service every night?
• Restocks all necessary dish pit cleaning materials (i.e. sanitizer, steel wool) throughout the day and shift
• Communicates to any BOH or FOH manager whenever cleaning supplies are at low levels
• Organizes the trash room to help expedite the removal and insertion of any trash or recyclables
• Employee changing areas and lockers must be kept organized and clean

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing these job duties, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, hear, and reach. The employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand for long periods of time. The employee is required to use dominate hand coordination for simple grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine manipulation. The employee is also required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, kneel, and reach above shoulder level. The employee may be required to travel to other floors using stairs multiple times during shift.
