The Plant Manager at the EMD Electronics Allentown, PA (Vultee Street) facility has overall operations responsibility of the manufacturing site, including Safety , Production, Quality, Maintenance, Packaging, Planning, and Engineering. The Plant Manager will champion a team-oriented culture of safety and quality to support employee engagement and customer satisfaction.

Your role:
  • Provides leadership, strategic vision, and tactical execution in support of key business objectives for the manufacturing site
  • Establishes and reinforces a culture and expectation of safety; ensures established safety procedures are followed step-by-step without variation to include the safety and security of all employees and visitors on the site
  • Motivates employees to recognize and promote Safety as a top priority. Sets the site safety goals and ensures basic safety process activities are performed, hazard identification processes and Operating Plant Hazard Reviews are instituted, and action items are completed to enhance the overall site safety performance
  • Assures compliance with applicable regulations and laws, corporate sustainability objectives, and emergency preparedness
  • Oversees all aspects of the employees in the plant including recruiting, onboarding, developing, and engaging. This includes building a positive, team-oriented culture via diversity and inclusion programs, talent development and succession planning processes, communication programs, training, and teambuilding activities
  • Optimize the use of automation and data science programs to improve the manufacturing efficiencies and product quality and consistency
  • Accountable for managing new process and product introductions and providing support during feasibility, technical planning phase, process transfer, launch, and continued supply
  • Ensures on-time product delivery and commercial supply of semiconductor products
  • Manage the site budgeting and planning processes to ensure that customer, financial, and operational objectives are goals, metrics and KPI's are met
  • Directly interact and manage relationship with local labor union
Who you are:

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree, in an Engineering discipline or related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in progressive leadership of multifunctional teams
  • 5+ years of experience in specialty chemical and/or electro-mechanical assembly production systems
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in business or technical field
  • Experience in manufacturing environment in semiconductor materials on an operative level
  • Proven communication and leadership skills and experience in diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Collective bargaining experience and/or Operational leadership within labor union environment
  • Transformation and lean management skills
  • Ability to establish credibility, be decisive, and be able to recognize and support the organization's preferences and priorities
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to drive important company inclusion, values, and initiatives
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, financial acumen, ability to make decisions in a constantly changing environment
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing start-up environment
