Essential Job Duties:

• Identifies and discusses potential or actual drug interactions or other incompatibility issues with providers and other clinical staff.
• Provide direct support to pharmacy department across multiple pharmacy sites.
  
• Researches and suggests most appropriate and affordable medication(s) to meet patient needs.
• Ensures that all prescription drugs and controlled substances are stored safely and securely.
• Maintains accurate inventory of medications and implements loss prevention controls.
• Educates patients on how to properly take their prescribed medications.
• Assists patients in solving problems, such as identifying old medications or finding over-the-counter solutions.
• Ensures safe disposal of infectious and/or hazardous wastes.
• Assist with pharmacy department vaccination efforts, as requested as needed.
• Participates in pharmacy-related committees and meetings and leadership meetings as needed.
• Assists in development of pharmacy operations policies and procedures.

Required Education, Experience, Certificates & Licenses:

• Graduate from an accredited College of Pharmacy. Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) preferred
• Minimum of three years pharmacy experience.
• Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the necessary skills and sensitivity
• Current Arizona State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License,
• Current CPR certification
• Driver's License and Proof of Insurance may be required if requesting mileage reimbursement
• Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Required Language Skills:

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required
