Performance Leader

Georgia-Pacific Dixie Continuous Manufacturing Group (CMG) is seeking a qualified professional to be considered for our Performance Leader role supporting our Dixie Operations located in Lexington, KY. The Lexington facility uses state of the art technology to manufacture Dixie® cups and lids in a progressive production environment. Dixie® is a brand of choice and is widely used in homes and businesses across the country.

The Performance Leader will be responsible for the safe and reliable performance of the work system. Lead, mentor, supervise and develop hourly employees to self-actualize and reach their full potential by utilizing Operating Excellence tools to improve capability and performance. With responsibility for approximately 40+ direct reports, the Performance Leader is expected to focus on performance management to achieve safety excellence, cost, production, quality, and customer satisfaction goals. This role will report directly to the Plant Printing Leader.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Lead and foster a safety culture that values risk identification and personal ownership, through a principle-based approach
  • Lead development and implementation of Performance, Skills and Qualification capability
  • Address performance gaps for technicians against individual capability and performance measurements across work system
  • Align to asset reliability and proven operational strategies in the product system and ensure team members have the right capabilities needed to execute these strategies
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Technicians, and other resources to build capabilities of team members within product system
  • Ensure team member individual roles, responsibilities, and expectations (RRE’s) are aligned with plant product system goals
  • Focused on human performance of product system through defining, educating, coaching and executing various disciplined operation processes/procedures
  • Assist in the development of the facility and department vision, articulate and lead direct reports and team toward the plant’s vision
  • Interface with manufacturing engineers, team coaches and reliability coaches to identify and address employee and operational performance gaps
  • Lead individual performance reviews, career development and compensation discussions
  • Lead the staffing and training plans for hourly technicians
  • Responsible for operating labor and operating supply budget

The Experience You Will Bring

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with safety and environmental policies and processes
  • Experience facilitating 1 on 1 and group conversations.

What Will Put You Ahead

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher
  • Experience working within a paper converting operation
  • Knowledge and experience with reliability systems, work processes, implementation, and continuous improvements
  • Experience working and leading in a union environment
