The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for processing the weekly payroll for Tri-Arc Food Systems, Inc. in accordance with all federal and state laws and regulations. This person will also supervise a team of 4 individuals.
Responsibilities and Duties
Payroll Administration
- Oversee internal weekly payroll process for 2,700+ employees; Payroll functions are not outsourced to a third-party company.
- Manually review and input payroll data into payroll system
- Transmit weekly ACH direct deposit file and positive pay file
- Process monthly commission payroll
- Prepare and submit quarterly and annual 940 and 941 filings
- Oversee year end fringe benefits and W-2 processing
- Calculate end of month payroll accruals and submit to CFO
- Upload weekly New Hire Report data for both NC and VA employment agencies
- Oversee Employment Security Commission claims, hearings, and appeals
- Responsible for weekly WOTC data submission
- Direct the activities of Payroll Coordinators and/or Payroll File Clerks (4+ individuals)
- Maintain personnel files for management and office employees
- Serve as subject matter expert on payroll processes
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding payroll administration
- Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion and good judgment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher)
- Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Effective at prioritizing multiple projects
- Ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner
- Ability to work both independently and as a part of a larger team
- Ability to adapt to new processes and technologies
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills are required
Minimum Requirements
- Graduation from a two-year or four-year degree program, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or Business Administration
- Seven years or more of payroll processing and supervisory experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
