Job Summary:

Under routine supervision, this position is responsible for ensuring parts are available to truck and trailer technicians for repairs. Manage inventory stock levels, perform audits, and submit orders to maintain an adequate supply of parts. Maintain information systems and process core and warranty returns according to Company requirements. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.

Applicants can be considered for I, II, or Sr. level Parts Technician depending on verified years of experience and position availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill parts requests by technicians and ensure parts are properly charged to the unit under repair
  • Receive inbound shipments of parts and fuel to ensure proper quantity ordered and free of damage, stock inbound parts to proper storage location and update information systems
  • Conduct Cycle Counts and periodic inventories as required
  • Ensure each unit has required inventory of equipment to determine usability and replacement of non-functional equipment
  • Maintain JBHT information systems regarding parts receipts, shipments, inventories, and usage
  • Provide administrative support by copying and typing correspondence, maintaining records, and filing
  • Retain and ship parts per the Company’s Warranty Retention and Core Management procedures
  • Maintain a clean, well-ordered work environment free of trash and hazards
  • Ensure compliance of safety policies
  • Mentor and train other shop personnel
  • Perform other duties as assigned Observe all Company safety requirements

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Up to a 12 to 18 months of direct experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
