DPRT has a service portfolio which includes 81 parks and facilities spread across 5,000 acres, two waterparks, four community pools, two indoor aquatic and fitness centers, three community centers, three golf courses, 50 miles of trails, 15 historic sites, and over 200 athletic fields.

ABOUT THIS ROLE
The primary responsibility of this role is to protect park resources and enhance the visitor experience by patrolling PWC Parks and facilities, ensuring a safe environment for all to enjoy; address safety concerns at the level of your Park Ranger Training and work with the PWC Police Department for events of a criminal nature; provide outstanding customer service to our patrons and park visitors.

PREFERENCES
1 year of experience working in parks and recreation or related experience.
Experience in educating or informing the public in a courteous manner.
Experience in Law enforcement, military, or hospitality a plus.
Can maintain a neutral appearance while wearing a uniform.
Certificate of completion of IMPMA Mountain Bike operators' course, or the ability to obtain within 1 year.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or G.E.D.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid driver’s license; Must pass a DPRT conducted DMV records checks; All hires 18 and older must pass a criminal background check, fingerprinting may be required.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. This position will work between 22.5-30 hours per week.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Incumbent should have the ability to walk for extended periods of time, often over rough terrain.

ENTRY SALARY RANGE
$20.43/hour
