Disability Adjudication Services (DAS) is one of the largest programs in GVRA. DAS
currently has over 400 employees, along with 85 independent contractors and 6
temporary workers - across its five locations in Stone Mountain, Athens, Savannah,
Thomasville and Dalton. Our bottom line is to deliver timely, accurate and cost-effective

Summary/Objective
Under direct supervision performs paraprofessional accounting and fiscal control
functions, such as accounts payable and general related accounting processes.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to

- Performs routine accounting, clerical, billing, and/or claims processing duties for
assigned accounts
- Review incoming Consultative Exams (CE), Medical Records (MER), Claimant
Travel, and supplemental bills to determine if requested studies are received and
verify amount to be paid
- Audit and prepare CE/MER/Claimant Travel authorizations and supplemental
bills for payment approval
- Maintain knowledge of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes and
descriptions, which describes medical services and procedures performed by
physicians and medical facilities
- Assist and respond to claimant/vendor calls regarding their payment status

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard
office equipment such as computers, fax machines and scanners.
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job perform duties in an office setting. This is a 40-hour workweek requirement. The position may involve managing a high volume workload and demands a high level of accuracy while working with deadlines. Regular attendance is an important part of being successful in this position. Work is performed in an office environment. Strong computer skills are needed due to ongoing changes to applications that affect the way the work is performed. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00
a.m. to 5 p.m.
Travel
No business travel is required for this position.
Required Education and Experience
Associate’s degree in business curriculum or related field from an accredited college or
university OR High school diploma or GED AND Two years of experience performing
accounting and/or fiscal control functions
Preferred Education and Experience
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum
qualifications, possess one or more of the items below:
1. Associate’s degree and two years experience performing accounting and/or fiscal
control functions
2. Familiarity with DAS processing of Consultative Examinations, Medical Evidence
of Record, and Applicant Travel
3. Experience in customer service with the ability to communicate effectively in
person, email correspondence and via telephone
4. Proficiency in typing accurately with speed

Balances and reconciles accounting records, statements, journals, ledgers or reports. Collects fees or revenues, disburses payments and posts to appropriate accounts. Compiles and maintains records and files. May analyze financial reports to assess compliance. May apply GAAP guidelines. May compile and prepare standard accounting reports. May monitor individual department budgets or expenditures, and identifies budget variances. Performs routine accounting, clerical, billing, and/or claims processing duties for assigned accounts Responds to inquiries to solve routine accounting problems. Prepares requested materials for audits of financial data or records. Processes or records financial transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, invoices, or requisitions in a ledger or computer system. Provides information or interpretation to third parties such as banks, auditors, vendors and governmental entities. Verifies the accuracy of information to be billed, tracks account activity, bills consumers and resolves billing inquiries.
