What you do:
Works at an experienced level with attorney(s) and business partners on matters related to specific areas of law. Acts as liaison with external business partners and outside counsel. Performs advanced legal tasks with minimal guidance using subject matter expertise and technical knowledge. Assists in other areas of Legal as needed.
Provide paralegal support to attorney(s) and internal business partners:
Anticipate and execute on needed tasks, exercising strong judgment and decision-making skills. Specific responsibilities will vary depending upon department assignment and area of law.
Independently and proactively identify appropriate action on legal issues, obtain appropriate buy-in and execute on actions.
Produce high quality, accurate work product with minimal guidance.
Independently draft, review and revise key legal documents for style, accuracy and substance.
Proactively identify areas for process improvement, identify best practices, communicate and advocate for change, and contribute effectively to change/process improvement efforts.
Demonstrate proficiency with law department technology, including software and databases.
Utilize strong communication skills and work with customers to understand and identify customer/client needs.
Perform legal research and analysis of statutory, regulatory, and general business matters.
Establish, develop and manage effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
Act as a liaison with business partners and outside counsel.
Effectively participate on and contribute to projects involving cross-disciplinary teams.
Work closely with corporate business analytics team to prepare and submit policy data information requests from various policy administration systems and QC results. Work closely with attorneys to interpret data results. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are critical.
Develop and implement remediation programs established as part of settlements with regulators and private litigants.
Receive, research, and respond to queries on historical litigation and regulatory remediation matters. Strong customer services skills required for occasional direct contact with customers on remediation/settlement matters.
Assist with responding to market conduct and other exam inquiries directed to litigation and regulatory team

What you bring:
Minimum Requirements:
  • 4-5 years of experience required; Experience as a paralegal in a paralegal position
  • Four-year degree required or equivalent work experience
  • Licensing/Certification/Other: ABA approved Paralegal Certificate or ABA approved Paralegal Association of Applied Science Degree (A.A.S. 2 year Paralegal degree)
Preferred Qualifications :
  • 6-7 years of experience preferred
  • 5 + years of experience preferred; Insurance or Financial Services industry; Law Firm or Corporate Legal Department experience.
Use of mouse and keyboard for extended periods. Sit for extended periods. Ability to lift between 10-25 pounds.
