Job description
Under direction of the Chief Administrative Officer and Deputy Director, perform a variety of skilled duties in support of business services, center units, academic research affiliated projects, and contact with the public for the Asian American Studies Center. Major duties include office management, purchase and reimbursement transactions, payroll, personnel, schedule and plan travel on behalf of the center, maintain various center filing systems, manage appointments of visiting scholars, manage parking and Center's room reservations calendar, supervise front desk student workers, and schedule meetings for the Director.Percentage of Time:

Required/Preferred
Office management experience within an academic institution.
Required
Working knowledge of UCLA Purchasing/Accounts Payable, BruinBuy, Travel Express/Consur System
Preferred
Detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (word, Excel, Outlook & Teams), and the Zoom video conferencing platform.
Required
Knowledge of web-based applications, e-mail, internet for correspondence, attachments and budgetary purposes, and social media tools.
Required
Ability to organize information, files, materials--for accessibility, administrative, and archival functions.
Required
Detailed working knowledge of processing UCPath, PeopleSoft transactions and other related university personnel/payroll forms; the UCPath Time Reporting System (TRS) & PeopleAdmin
Preferred
Strong oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with staff, faculty, visiting scholars and students.

Knowledge of University financial and personnel policy(hire, separate, etc.)
