Job description
We are seeking a Network Operations Technician for a 6-12+ month contract (with potential for extension or to convert to perm). This is for a top telecom company and a fortune 200 company.
Description of role:
- Works on relatively straightforward installation and/or maintenance assignments on network switching equipment.
- Technician for customer/company network systems installation and/or maintenance activities.
- Monitors network operations and resolves routine network monitoring problems.
- Monitors network performance; conducts routine monitoring equipment installation and maintenance activities; resolves routine trouble tickets.
Desired Skills:
Hands on experience with one or more of the following:
- Trouble Ticketing Systems (remedy, ServiceNow, etc)
- Support, installation and maintenance of networking systems/products
- Network and Systems technologies (NOC)
- Network LAN and WAN Protocols (RIP, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, EIGRP, MPLS, PIM, IGMP
- Telecommunications Technologies (T1, DS1, DS3, Metro Ethernet)
- Network Monitoring
- Routers, Switches and Firewalls
- Cisco, ADTRAN or Juniper Product experience
- Associate degree OR equivalent education / relevant experience.
- Minimum 3+ related experience in specific area or equivalent.
Preferred:
Any certificates of training in associated fields/equipment (Cisco, Juniper, CCNE/CCNA, JNCIA/JNCIS, CCNA, CompTIA Network+, CCNP, ect.)
