Job Description


Turner & Townsend
are seeking an experienced, Senior Cost Consultant to lead Turner & Townsend's Southern California area team with MEP estimates and MEP cost management on a various portfolio of large real estate, manufacturing, high-tech, industrial and life sciences projects for our key clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing the full cost management service, specializing in MEP.
  • Preparing Construction Cost Estimate reports at all stages of design.
  • Managing and taking responsibility for estimating and cost planning activities including taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan/estimate to the client team.
  • Applying Value Management techniques at the outset of a package and where appropriate.
  • Post-tender cost analysis and reconciliations against values provided by the contractor.
  • Ensuring that cost analysis, cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively.
  • Participating in Value engineering, LEED analysis and Life Cycle costing.
  • Interfacing with the client, other consultants, and being a real team player within the T&T Team.
  • Provide leadership to cost management team when necessary, ensure the delivery on all of accountabilities.
  • Business Development – Being aware and proactive to highlight potential opportunities to Associate Directors and Directors.
  • Staff management– Input into performance review process of consultants and graduate consultants.
  • Recruitment - Inclusion in selection and recruitment process, including interviews.
  • Knowledge management – Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each commission is input into the Turner & Townsend internal database.

Qualifications


  • College degree in Engineering, Construction Management with a Technical Focus, Quantity Surveyor, or related technical field.
  • Real Estate or relatable (manufacturing, high-tech, industrial, life sciences, etc.) experience is preferred.
  • Trained Engineer and demonstrated experience estimating mechanical and/or electrical systems on large-scale construction projects.
  • Construction experience with full scope MEP; mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems is a plus.
  • Good technical experience in all cost management areas; pre-contract, post contract and final account.
  • Demonstrate solid presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCad Navisworks, Google Suite and/or other related computer software.
  • Good organization skills, ability to multi-task, and be a team player.
  • Good knowledge of all methods of construction procurement.
  • Experience with advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
  • Experience with key aspects of business development.
  • Good knowledge and experience gained within several industry sectors.

Additional Information


The salary range for this full-time role is
$140K-$205 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
