Medical Records Clerk - PT Day
Job description
PrimeCare Medical of New York, Inc. are looking for a Medical Records Clerk to work part-time on the day shift in the medical department at the Rensselaer County Jail located in Troy, NY. The ideal Medical Records Clerk should be upbeat and maintain a pleasant working attitude when dealing with staff and patients.
Available Shift: PT Day (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Job Responsibilities:
The Medical Records Clerk will be responsible for a variety of daily tasks and duties at the facility. They will be responsible for coordinating office functions in the medical department.
Other responsibilities for the Medical Assistant will include:
- Typing various reports, letters, and memoranda.
- Answering the medical department telephone and processing the calls.
- Escorting visitors to and from the medical unit if needed.
- Maintain filing system and confidentiality of information.
- Maintain a pleasant working attitude.
- Maintain confidentiality at ALL times.
- Any/all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or delegated by the sites Health Service Administrator.

The Medical Records Clerk is a fast paced position, and as such, we must have someone who has the ability to multi-task.
Other requirements for the position include:
- At least 2 years of clerical experience
- Ability to type with accuracy
- Effective communication and telephone skills
- Effective computer skills.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Working knowledge of office equipment
