Location: North Sioux City, SD
Position Title: Mechanic
FLSA Category: Non-exempt
Reports to: Field Support Manager
RP Constructors LLC. began operations in 2015 and has experienced rapid growth each year since. We perform sanitary sewer, storm drain, roadway construction, and industrial piping. The dirt foreman position is responsible for supervising the dirt crew and ensuring site operations are completed to company standards.
Responsibilities/Duties:

• Identifying parts and tools necessary to complete the work.
• Providing information on pricing for tools and parts.
• Tracking equipment warranties and coordinating warranty work.
• Perform preventative maintenance/machine inspections.
• Troubleshoot issues with gas & diesel engines.
• Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown.
• Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles and equipment.
• Running diagnostic tests and analyzing the results.
• Testing vehicles and equipment to determine condition.
• Maintaining inventory of shop materials.
• Perform annual inspections on all equipment and vehicles.
• Advise management on repair options and costs.
• Perform welding or fabrication tasks on trailers and other equipment as necessary.
• Maintaining the shop cleanliness.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of OSHA and company safety regulations.
• Knowledge of gasoline and diesel vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of various vehicles, equipment, and trailers.
• Ability to use power and hand tools.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
• Effective interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in diesel technology or equivalent work experience. (Required)
• Possession of a valid driver’s license. (Required)
• Maintain a driver’s medical card. (Required)
• Able to work long hours including day, night, weekend shifts as needed, and work outside normal hours. (Required)
• Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. (Required)
• Class A CDL driver’s license. (Preferred)
• Previous welding experience. (Preferred)
